Shadow Minister for Education Mr. Martin Dixon recently met with representatives from Seddon, Kingsville, Yarraville (SKY) High Working Group (WG) where he expressed his support for the development of a secondary college facility in the Seddon, Kingsville, Yarraville neighbourhood.
Representatives from the SKY High WG were pleased to accept Mr. Dixons invitation to meet with him to discuss the secondary education needs of the SKY neighbourhood. SKY High spokesperson Susan Douglass says that the meeting was very positive and that Mr. Dixon was aware of the large amount of work and consultation that had been undertaken to establish the need for a secondary facility in our area.
Ms. Douglass said that Mr. Dixon "wouldn't want to re-establish the need for a secondary college facility, rather he was excited about the opportunity to create a facility that would support the needs of our inner west community. He said that we now had an opportunity to consult with our community, local business and industries to create an education vision for our children."
Ms. Douglass said that Mr. Dixon said he would recommend to the Opposition's Policy Review group that the project would commence in their first term of Government.
